
Mark Rigolle is Chief Executive Officer of O3b Networks. Prior to this appointment, Mr Rigolle was Chief Financial Officer of SES. He joined SES in August 2004 from Belgacom, the Brussels-based telecommunications company, where he held various positions including those of Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer and of Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining Belgacom, he worked for ABN AMRO and for Sanwa Bank as Corporate Account Manager. Mr. Rigolle holds a degree in Economic Science from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium.
Mr Jonas Mattsson is Chief Financial Officer of O3b Networks. Mr. Mattsson joins O3b from SES NEW SKIES, where he served as CFO and Senior Vice President of Finance. He joined SES in 2005 as CFO of SES SIRIUS where he helped to develop the Nordic and Eastern European markets. Prior to SES, Mr. Mattsson worked extensively within management teams of various parts of Ericsson as well as the start up company - Ericsson Microsoft Mobile Venture. Mr. Mattsson holds an Engineering degree as well as Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Economics from the University of Stockholm, Sweden.
Prior to joining O3b, Bill was a Partner at Holland & Hart LLP in Denver, Colorado. As an attorney, Bill’s practice focused on commercial transactions with a particular emphasis on complex financing structures and commercial real estate development. Bill received the highest Martindale Hubbell rating (AV).
After leaving Holland & Hart in 2001, Bill spent more than six years at GMAC Commercial Holdings Capital Markets (later renamed Capmark) where he was a Senior Vice President and investment banker in the structured finance group. At Capmark, Bill participated in over $5 billion of unique and innovative commercial mortgage-backed securitisation structures and tax-exempt bond securitisations, as well as more than $2 billon of commercial loan syndications and senior/subordinated loan participations.
Bill holds both a degree in Business Honors and a Juris Doctor degree with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin.
John leads O3b’s global sales and marketing efforts.
Prior to joining O3b Networks, John served as Regional Managing Director for Ciena Corp, where he was responsible for Northern Europe, Russia and the Middle East.
Before this, John held a number of International Vice President positions from 2004 to 2007 with Alcatel-Lucent, including responsibility for the Vodafone business unit. He later served as Vice President of International Accounts for the Northern Europe region.
From 1999 to 2004, John served as a founding member of Huawei Technologies’ European team. During this time, he secured major contracts across Europe, the Middle East and Africa as the company’s Vice President of Mobile Solutions for the EMEA region.
Early in his career, John worked for the UK Foreign Commonwealth Office and T-Mobile UK.
Brian leads the design and development of O3b’s constellation space segment, the launch of satellites and the development of satellite control centers.
From 2002 to 2008, Brian worked for Ball Aerospace and Technologies Corp as a senior program manager, where he managed instrument and spacecraft technical teams. Brian spent most of his career with Fairchild Space and Orbital Sciences as a spacecraft systems engineer. In 1999, Brian received Orbital Science’s Outstanding Technical Achievement Award.
Brian earned a BSc in aerospace engineering from Virginia Tech and an MSc in space systems engineering with an emphasis in pointing and control theory from George Washington University. He serves on the Advisory Board of the University of Colorado’s Space Grant College.
Steve leads the design of O3b’s customer-site satellite ground station equipment. He is also responsible for the deployment of the O3b’s gateways worldwide.
Prior to joining O3b, Steve worked for BridgePort Networks as Senior Vice President of Engineering and Chief Technology Officer. Before BridgePort, he served as Senior Vice President of Engineering and Chief Technology Officer at Genuity, where his group designed and built one of the first and largest VoIP networks. Previously, Steve was Vice President and General Manager of Global Network Infrastructure at GTE.
Steve began his career with Bolt Beranek and Newman (BBN), where he was responsible for early DARPA Internet research projects in packet satellite communications.
Following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, Steve served as an advisor on Internet Security to the US Congress and the President’s Special Advisor on Cyberspace Security.
Steve holds BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from MIT. He has also completed the MIT Sloan School of Management's Greater Boston Executive Program.
Christian leads O3b’s product development strategy. This includes creating and packaging products and services in line with O3b strategy and customer needs.
Prior to his appointment at O3b, Christian held several entrepreneurial roles including founder and Managing Director of OghmaMedia, a wireless media company based in Singapore which established and operated a vast network of wireless access points serving the advertising industry and founder and head of a consultancy practice also in Singapore, focused on providing strategic planning, market insight and sales support to clients in the Satellite industry.
Previously, Christian worked for 8 years at SES in Luxembourg and the USA, where he held various responsibilities in Satellite operations development and Satellite procurement and manufacturing.
Christian holds an MBA from Insead, a Master of Science in Aeronautics from the Von Karman Institute, Belgium and a Master of Engineering from the 'Ecole Polytechnique' of ULB, Belgium.
