Steve Collar



Steve Collar has been involved with O3b Networks since its inception and served on the board before becoming CEO in March 2011.


Before this, Steve was Senior VP Market Development at SES WORLD SKIES where he led efforts to expand their satellite and service portfolio, had responsibility for their long term strategy and was a key player in their acquisition of ProtoStar 2.


Andrew Browne



Andrew formally served as CFO at SES and was CFO at Intelsat from 1995 to 1998 where he was instrumental in building the foundation for privatization and the formation of the spin-off ‘New Skies Satellites’.


Andrew was CFO at New Skies from 1998 to 2008, overseeing IPOs on the Euronext and NYSE. He is a member of the board of trustees of the Intl Space University in Strasbourg.



John Baughn

Chief Services Officer


John Baughn joined O3b In January 2015. With 20+ years’ experience in leading technology dominant business’ including Ciena and Motorola to become more services and software driven.


John’s expertise lies in driving continuous profitable business growth around managed, professional services operations. He is a design agent and innovator, driving modernization and monetizing networks.





Stewart Sanders



Before joining O3b, Stewart was SVP of Planning & Procurement at SES where he was responsible for satellite and launch vehicle procurement, satellite fleet technical planning and innovation program management.


Whilst at SES, Stewart worked on the initial development of the O3b NOC. Stewart has worked at BTI, Intelsat, ICO, NEW SKIES SATELLITES and SES and was the founding Chairman of the Space Data Association.

Charles Hannaford



Charles joined O3b in 2010, forming the Commercial Management function and driving the company sales strategy. In this role he led the customer contract and deal negotiations, sales pipeline & sales process management and supported the corporate financing efforts.


Charles was appointed CCO in December 2015 and leads the global sales organisation. Previously Charles was Head of Commercial Management for Ciena, EMEA and before that Finance and Sales for O2 UK.

John-Paul Hemingway



John-Paul joined O3b in 2016 as Chief Marketing Officer. John-Paul leads our Product Management, Marketing, Business Development and Corporate Strategy and is responsible for developing O3b’s products and vertical markets.


Before O3b, John-Paul served as VP, Packet Networking Portfolio Management for Ciena, as well as several senior executive positions at Ciena in Solutions Management, Regional Sales and as Regional CTO.


Thai Rubin

Executive VP, General Counsel


Thai Rubin manages all legal and regulatory matters at O3b Networks. Before joining O3b in 2010, Thai served as Senior VP and General Counsel at SES WORLD SKIES.


He became General Counsel there in 2003 and oversaw a series of exciting transactions including their public listing on the New York Stock Exchange and their subsequent sale to SES S.A. in 2006.



Dara McCann

Executive VP, HR & Organisation Development


Dara joined O3b from Expand Coaching (a company she founded in 2005), where she was an Executive Coach and HR consultant. As an HR expert she takes a pragmatic approach to engaging, developing and optimizing the right people to realize organizational goals.


Over her career, Dara has worked with companies including Ricoh, DSGi, PayPoint, Premier Foods, LGi and CMG.
