O3b Hawaii Teleport Partner, October 2011

O3b chooses SES Hawaii Gateway as Teleport partner.

O3b recently signed an agreement to partner with SES’ Sunset Beach Teleport in Hawaii as the second provider of Gateway services for our global satellite network. Through this location, O3b will link its reliable Gigabit IP network connectivity and bandwidth services to customers located in the Pacific Islands.

The Sunset Beach Teleport is an established teleport services facility with 25years experience providing critical commercial and government services.

O3b will install multiple 7.3m ka-Band Gateway antennas at the Sunset Beach facility enabling low latency, high-speed IP services to customer-end remote terminals. On the ground, the Gateway will initially support the provision of greater than 12 Gigabits per second throughput serving up to 10 spot beams simultaneously.

This agreement is an important step forward for O3b as we deploy a range of highly reliable and superior quality services to clients around the world.
